This week for Plant Tip Tuesday...
We’re talking about plants that are pet-friendly!
Do you have a bad kitty boy who likes to jump up on your shelves and snack on your plants? Or a new puppy who nibbles on the lower leaves of your floor plants?
As many plant hobbyists will know, there are some plants that are toxic to animals and could cause your furry friends to get quite sick. Symptoms can range from mild gastrointestinal upset to severe kidney damage.
To deter them from munching, you can keep your plants on higher shelves or hang your plants in a cute macramé hangers. Ideally you should discourage your pets from eating your plants, but there are some varieties that are non-toxic.
Here are some of our favorite pet-friendly plants:
- Calathea
- Hoya
- Money Tree
- Nerve Plants
- Palms
- Staghorn
- Spider Plants
- Tillandsia
By making smart plant choices you’ll keep your pets and your plants happy!
