This week, for Plant Tip Tuesday...
Just in time for Mother's Day, we're talking about indoor flowering plants!
A few of our favorites are:
- Orchids
- African Violets
- Cyclamen
- Bromeliads
- Kalanchoes and Calandivas
Currently for Mother’s Day we have mixed dish gardens that include some of these showy beauties.
Most Flowering plants like a bright filtered light location.
Remove any spent blooms, as this will encourage new flowers.
Flowering plants typically put out a flush of blooms and then they go through a growth cycle. Depending on the variety of plant they may rebloom soon after or it may take a few months to get flowers again. We recommend using a blooming fertilizer for all flowering plants. The fertilizer will help to develop strong and prolific flower buds.
We all love a lush tropical houseplant but flowering plants are a great way to add a pop of colour into your décor!
